ND-GAIN Course Development Grants

In collaboration with the Center for Social Concerns, the Notre Dame Global Adaptation Initiative will support two curriculum grants during Fall 2016 that incude elements of the Papal Encyclical Laudato Si’ and climate adaptation. 

Applicants were asked to design a course that addresses social concerns through meaningful and reciprocal engagement with local community partners. Faculty have the option of sharing their curriculum more broadly with Catholic Relief Services' Faculty Learning Commons. 
2016 Fall courses selected include: 
  1. “Practicum in Field Environmental Biology: Galápagos Islands" | Professor Gary Lamberti, Biological Sciences & Professor Malcolm Fraser, Biological Sciences 
  2. “Introduction to Ecological Horticulture” | Professor Rachel Novick, Biological Sciences & Ms. Theri Niemier, Bertrand Farm.
