Frank Incropera is the H. Clifford and Evelyn A. Brosey Professor and Dean Emeritus of the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. Incropera’s research focus is energy conversion.

In the past ten years, Incropera’s interests have turned to both technical and nontechnical issues associated with transition to a sustainable energy future. His work addresses numerous fundamental issues, as well as applications dealing with energy conversion. Incropera works with the team to shape the indices for vulnerability, especially indices related to a country’s infrastructure.

Incropera has authored or co-authored 15 books and more than 200 journal articles. In 2001 he was named by the Institute for Scientific Information as one of the 100 most frequently cited engineering researchers in the world. He is a Fellow of ASME, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
